Με επιστολές του προς τους αρμόδιους Επιτρόπους της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής, τους κυρίους Hansen
και Várhelyi, ο ευρωβουλευτής του ΠΑΣΟΚ Σάκης
Αρναούτογλου ζητά την άμεση κινητοποίηση
ευρωπαϊκών μηχανισμών και χρηματοδοτικών εργαλείων για την αντιμετώπιση των
συνεχώς αυξανόμενων κρουσμάτων ευλογιάς σε αιγοπρόβατα σε διάφορες περιοχές της
Ελλάδας.
Όπως υπογραμμίζει ο Έλληνας ευρωβουλευτής, η ασθένεια εξακολουθεί να
εξαπλώνεται, προκαλώντας σοβαρές απώλειες στο ζωικό κεφάλαιο και επιβάλλοντας
αυστηρούς περιορισμούς στις μετακινήσεις ζώων. Το πλήγμα είναι πολυεπίπεδο:
οικονομικό, κοινωνικό και παραγωγικό, με τους μικρούς και μεσαίους κτηνοτρόφους
να κινδυνεύουν να εγκαταλείψουν οριστικά τη δραστηριότητά τους.
Ο κ. Αρναούτογλου προτείνει τρεις άμεσες ενέργειες σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο:
Ενεργοποίηση των τεχνικών μηχανισμών βοήθειας της ΕΕ, για την
επανεξέταση και προσαρμογή των στρατηγικών διαχείρισης της νόσου στις τοπικές
ιδιαιτερότητες.
Χρηματοδοτική στήριξη μέσω διαθέσιμων ευρωπαϊκών μέσων, για την
αποκατάσταση των πληγέντων εκτροφών, την αποζημίωση των παραγωγών και την
ενίσχυση της βιοασφάλειας.
Διερεύνηση δυνατοτήτων επείγουσας χρηματοδότησης, είτε μέσω του
Ευρωπαϊκού Γεωργικού Ταμείου Εγγυήσεων είτε μέσω άλλων ειδικών μηχανισμών, για
την άμεση ανακούφιση των κτηνοτρόφων και την ενίσχυση της ανθεκτικότητας του
κλάδου.
«Η κτηνοτροφία αποτελεί ζωτικό πυλώνα για την οικονομία και την
κοινωνική συνοχή της Ελληνικής Υπαίθρου. Χρειαζόμαστε ευρωπαϊκή αλληλεγγύη εδώ και τώρα. Κάθε
καθυστέρηση ισοδυναμεί με απώλεια ζώων, εισοδήματος και παραγωγικής
δυναμικής», τονίζει ο Σάκης Αρναούτογλου, καλώντας την
Κομισιόν να σταθεί στο ύψος των περιστάσεων και να δράσει άμεσα.

Dear Commissioner Hansen,
With a sense of responsibility and deep concern, I am reaching out to
inform you about the serious situation affecting several regions of Greece due
to the re-emergence of sheep and goat pox with increasing outbreaks.
Despite the implementation of the prescribed containment measures by the
Greek authorities, the disease continues to affect livestock holdings, causing
extensive losses of animals due to mandatory culling and imposing strict
restrictions on animal movements. The impact is multifaceted: economic, social,
and productive—particularly for small and medium-sized holdings that are at
risk of permanently ceasing their activities.
This situation requires a coordinated and immediate response at the
European level. In particular, the following actions are deemed necessary:
• Activation of
European technical assistance mechanisms, in order to examine alternative and
better tailored disease management approaches adapted to local specificities
and needs.
• Mobilisation of
available EU financial instruments to support the restoration of livestock
populations, compensate lost income of affected producers, and enhance
biosecurity in the affected holdings.
• Assessment of
possibilities for emergency financial support, either through the European
Agricultural Guarantee Fund or other special financial mechanisms, to provide
immediate relief to producers and strengthen the resilience of the sector.
Livestock farming is a vital pillar of the rural economy and social
cohesion in the affected areas. Your timely intervention is of critical
importance to prevent further disruption of the productive fabric in these
regions.

that could contribute to the effective management of this ongoing crisis.
